- Simeon ben Setah
- (fl. 1st cent BCE)Palestinian scholar. He was active during the reign of Alexander Yannai and Salome Alexandra (who was his sister). He and Judah ben Tabbai together formed one of the zugot. He was largely responsible for ensuring that the Pharisees were dominant in public and private life during the Second Temple period; he managed to change the Sanhedrin into a Pharisaic body.
